For customers that want an internal solution, we also offer STEAM as an appliance based (all hardware provided) solution. In this setup, your internal employees can setup, admin and maintain the entire system without any external intervention. With this solution, our SCADA team of professionals is only a phone call away.
Overview of STEAM
STEAM is the culmination of nearly three decades of work in SCADA, 12 years of development on the products. Since 2017 Spotlight Systems has been offering SCADA As A Service to its customers. We started out as offering STEAM in an "As A Service Model" only. With this model we handle everything required to run an enterprise level SCADA system for you. In 2022 we began work on our stand alone, appliance based system that can be self hosted. This was initially named STEAM HMI, but is now just all a part of the overall system, STEAM.
Desktop, Web, Alarming, History, Backups and Hardware all included
With many of the systems offered today, they pull you in with "get our free version" or a very inexpensive entry level option. Then you find out that offerings like a web interface, or history storage is all optional. Before you know it you've spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on your new SCADA system. With STEAM that is all included in the system. The variance in cost with STEAM would be the size of the appliance you need depending on your system size. More history and more end users requires a stronger machine.
We also supply the hardware and keep it refreshed between 40 and 48 months, even with our on premises STEAM HMI solution.
FULL SCADA as a Service option
There is a lot of expense and expertise associated with running a SCADA system. Spotlight Systems was founded on offering STEAM and other SCADA related functions as a service. We can provide everything you need for a fully functional SCADA system for LESS than what most systems cost in annual fees. With our SAAS offering you get :

Computational Mass Balance / Leak Detection
Utilizing our proprietary and industry proven system for mass balance, companies can monitor their liquids pipelines for issues as simple as measurement issues, and in severe cases, pipeline leaks.
Our experienced team in both pipeline control and SCADA can analyze your pipelines, identify the key points for leak detection, identify any missing points (high consequence areas for example) and also quickly diagnose any measurement issues that might be causing an imbalance.
END to END SCADA and HMI
STEAM can be run at an enterprise level supplying your employees with data from your field in the format you desire whether that is only a few people to literally hundreds.
In addition to our enterprise offering, a company can also implement localized installations of STEAM to monitor and control field level items individually. Whether that is an Oil and Gas compressor station, a Greenhouse facility, or a solar farm STEAM has you covered.
