Many IT and Automation & Controls service providers will simply attach your locations or field devices to a internet connected, publicly available cellular modem and call it a day. The personnel at Spotlight had their careers based at large corporations who had a huge focus on security and would never allow their equipment to be directly exposed to the internet. The experience we have in networks and secure communications is how we designed our networks.
We have private cellular networks setup with the two foremost providers of IOT connectivity in the country, giving us nearly end to end coverage of the United States.
How is this different than an internet connected device? When our devices are connected, they are activated with one of our SIM cards and are put onto our private network and receive a dedicated, PRIVATE IP address that is not internet routable or accessible. This combined with the fact that each of our customers servers are behind several firewalls, makes using our secure communications much more secure than a directly connected device.
Our communications platform was designed and setup to give our customers large corporation communications, and a very affordable price. We consider this service so important for our customers, that this is a "break even" service for us.
We have very aggressive pricing with both ATT and Verizon based off of their new IOT platforms. Our pans are based off of usage and the more we use, the less we pay for the amount of data transferred. Our plans are setup in Pools, and all of our customers are in the same pools. As a result, the more we sign on, the more we save.
We pass on any savings we get to our customers. All of our customers that switch to us realize significant savings. Typically we see 40-75%.
In addition to the cost we monitor our networks daily for any type of rogue device and inform our customers if there is an issue, before they get a nasty surprise bill at the end of the month.
